The sodium channels with voltage are involved in the production of high-speed potentials similar to nerve impulses. In contrast, the slower ones produced by muscle cells are controlled by the calcium Ion channels.The the most intensely studied voltage-gated Ion channels are sodium ion channels that are involved in higher speed nerve impulse transmission.
