In case of neurons, axons, dendrites and cell body have different electrical properties. Most excitable portion of neuron is called the axon hillock. However, axons and cells body can also be stimulated. At the axon , the resting potential is -70mV and the threshold is 55 mV. Neuronal synaptic interactions induce depolarization and cause the membrane potential to increase or decrease. The action potential is generated when enough depolarization happens and the membrane potential exceeds an upper limit.

Action potential is the result of the activity of voltage-gated ion channels that reside in the plasma membrane of a cell. A voltage-gated , ion channel is in fact a collection of proteins that remains embedded within the plasma membrane. They produce action potential because it can create the positive feedback loop. Membrane current is responsible monitoring the status of Ion channels. Action potential is generated during the time that the feedback cycle occurs at full strength. Its duration and amplitude are determined by the bio-physical properties of the ion channel voltage-gated. Many kinds of ionchannels have been identified which generate positive feedback circuits that ultimately produce these potentials. Voltage-gated sodium channel are involved in generation of faster potentials that are similar to nerve impulses. More slow ones such as those produced in muscle cells are mediated by the calcium Ion channels.The ones that have been the most extensively studied voltage -gated Ion channels are sodium channels, which play a role in more rapid nerve impulse conduction.

Superb rifles they should never have discontinued. The only one that comes to mind thats relatively new is the marlin xt22t but no clue if still in production. A 22 magnum set to 30 yards is zero drop at 100 yards.
