The voltage-gated channel is actually a group of proteins which remain in the plasma membrane. It produces an action potential in order to result in the positive feedback loop. Membrane potential plays a role in managing the state of Ion channels. The action potential is created by the positive feedback cycle that continues at its fullest. The frequency and duration are dependent on the bio-physical properties of the ion-channels that are voltage-gated. Different types of ion channels exist that can generate positive feedback and lead to the generation of these potentials. The sodium channels with voltage are involved in the creation of more powerful potentials , similar to those that result from nerve impulse. They are slower than those that occur in the muscle cells are controlled by the calcium ion channels.The ones that have been the most extensively studied voltage -gated Ion channels are sodium ion channels involved in faster nerve impulse conduction.
